Susan Jones (1843 – ?) traveled from Columbus to serve as a soldier in the Civil War. Some say it was for love, some say it was to fight for the cause. But she was imprisoned and sent back to Columbus, possibly to the insane asylum. For more on Susan, visit S.E.’s feature on her.
