Helen Gibbons Lotspeich (14 July 1881 – 24 Jan 1955) was a successful educator who sought a position on city council unsuccessfully. She ran her own experiential Clifton Open Air School. For her, learning was practical, tactile, and developed from curiosity. Her students went on to do wonderful things as well, including Helen Black, who started the Cincinnati Nature Center. She was bold, loving, intelligent, funny, and never ceased to wonder.
